FROM THE POPPY CHAIR:

Hope everyone had a successful summer. So happy our beautiful branch 350 is finally open.

The poppy campaign letters will be available for you to pick up at the branch anytime after September 14th. They will be mailed out on October 5th, if you are unable to pick yours up. Please remember that the Poppy Trust fund saves $1.00 for each letter that is picked up at the branch and we all want to save as much as possible for our veterans' programs.

Poppy Campaign begins this year on Friday October 27th.
Please do not wear your Poppy until that date.
Also, The Poppy may be worn for the funeral of a Veteran, or at a commemorative event such as the anniversary of Vimy Ridge.

The Campaign finishes on November 11th.

The Poppy Countertop boxes have all been prepared for our drivers to deliver on the 27th.

I thank all my Poppy volunteers, I could not have done it alone.

Please consider making your donations with a generous heart, with our Veterans in your thoughts.

Also, I'm sure you remembered that when you joined the Legion, you pledged to actively participate in the poppy campaign. The sign-up board will be available in the branch as of September 15th. Please consider where, when, and how you will participate.  Please feel free to call me anytime after October 4th to volunteer for the Poppy Box Readiness Team  .

I want to thank all the knitters and crocheters that have worked so hard to get our poppies ready for our poppy cascade at St. John's Anglican Church, 80 Main Street in Port. It will be a welcome addition across from the cenotaph.

Due to an unforeseen building issue at St Johns Church in Port Dalhousie,  we will be extending the deadline for Poppy knitters and crochet ladies until Good Friday next year.
We will then take a tally to see if we need any more poppies.
The Poppy Cascade is planned now for Friday October 25th, 2024.
